2019 is here....

I can't believe we are already in the middle of January.

We have recently seen the first real frosts of the winter so far. here in East Anglia. Beautiful to observe on a crisp early morning but not so easy to work in, with frozen soil and the worry of lost plants not waking up in the spring from their slumber.

Our biggest concern is the cordylines and tree ferns.

For a number of years they have worn their winter fleecy coats but each spring we can only hope that these have been enough to protect them through the coldest spells. I shall look forward to the tree ferns unfurling and stretching out their woolly new fronds as spring turns to summer....seems some time away yet. Here's to warmer times!
